NEW FINANCE AND PRODUCTION OUTFIT COMPADRE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES ITS FIRST FEATURE FILM DEAL WITH VOLTAGE PICTURES

Gerard Barba and Emmanuel Paintendre have come together to form Compadre Entertainment. With the ability to invest equity for both development and production, the new production shingle is initially aiming to co-finance and produce up to five movies a year with a focus on strong, commercial material. For its feature film debut, Compadre has teamed up with Nicolas Chartier’s Voltage Pictures to co-finance the Chris McCoy-helmed coming-of-age comedy, Good Kids, starring Nicholas Braun and Zoey Deutch, which Voltage is producing alongside Depth of Field. The film wraps shooting in Massachusetts next Wednesday. Chartier said, “We’re excited to help launch this venture with Gerard and Emmanuel. It’s great to find likeminded people who share our passion for great stories and that’s what this business really needs.” Barba said, “We’ve been talking to Voltage for some time now and can’t think of a better partner or project on which to launch this exciting new venture. We’re hoping this will be the first of more”.  Voltage’s Dominic Rustam brokered the deal on behalf of the company.  Glenn D. Feig negotiated on behalf of Compadre.
